Wednesday night soirées
Our Wednesday night soirées will take place at 7.30pm at The Swan pub, Horndon on the Hill on the first Wednesday of the month up to and including April. It's a time to chat and relax with the people that you have walked with during the summer's walk programme.
Walk Leaders
Thurrock Rambler’s has a small group of dedicated walk leaders who we can depend upon to fill the programme.
Occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family commitments etc they sometimes have to drop out of leading their walk.
This does not happen very often, but when it does and they cannot get anyone to swap with them I have to either try and find a replacement or, more likely, cancel the walk.
It would be very helpful if I could have a few names that I can call on to act as a backup. I would not expect any commitment to contribute regular walks, just if you happen to be free, step in.If you decide to help out, you won’t be on your own, we will give you all the help and support you may need.

Footpaths
The chairman of Ramblers Essex Area is asking for our help in reporting any problems that you may find whilst walking on any footpaths or bridleways that Essex CC are responsible for.
Please report any broken or dangerous stiles, gates, bridges etc. Make a note of where you are, nearest map references, footpath etc and pictures if possible and send them to Bernie Smith at
